BLOG + SOCIAL MEDIA HIATUS

HI BABES!

Well it’s certainly been a minute since I’ve shared anything here - recipes, wine, wellness routine, life, anything.
To be totally honest and vulnerable with you, life has been full of challenge and emotions these past few weeks. Well maybe the last year and a half as a small business gym owner BUT the last month has shaken me to the core and has me hovering around rock bottom.

I will share more, when I’m ready, about what’s happened. However I did get pretty raw on what happened over on my IGTV last week. Thank you for the outpour of love + support, it means the world to me.

Prior to all that happened I was taking a bit of a social media break. It just didn’t feel authentic to show up and talk about my workouts, vitamin routine, books I’m reading or wine I’m drinking - not when our family was dealing with something so much bigger. My focus was my family and doses of self care to ensure I was keeping my head and heart in the positivity game.

Post run meditation at our favorite spot

We hear so much about self care that comes in many forms, so while I’m on the topic I thought I’d share the self care practices I was prioritizing (and still am):

  • running - anywhere from 20-30 minutes (about 3.5-5K) thanks to my Peloton app.

  • meditation - I love stacking a 5 minute meditation onto my outdoor runs, down by the waterfront… it’s so grounding. I’ve only recently gotten into meditation these past few months and have been using the Peloton app for this as well. (I’ve fallen hardddd for Peloton, love everything about the brand, app, workouts, the list goes on! Feel free to use my referral code: SY8Q4G to enjoy Peloton as part of your lifestyle)

  • journaling - I got a fresh notebook and have been pouring my feelings into the pages. Writing your feelings + thoughts can be cathartic and stir up the different emotions you’re experiencing.

  • outdoor walks - low impact exercise, fresh air and a feel good podcast (and maybe some dogs!) is good for the soul. I’ve enjoyed walks solo, with Matt or with a girlfriend - it’s important to listen to your soul on what it’s craving.

  • stillness - I’ve really come to appreciate sitting in stillness. My favorite place is our backyard with our local waterfront coming in second. I love the whistle of our trees blowing in the wind, birds chirping or water rippling. I think this is a positive addition to our every day lives because it is SO easy to get caught up in work, our daily tasks and to do list. Even just 5 minutes of stillness to reset your mind, body + soul can be so grounding.

I will gradually be easing back into my social media and content creation, and actually have a few exciting things coming up. So stay tuned!

Until next time, thank you for your LOVE, thank you for your SUPPORT.

Love + light,
Alli xx
